History: N.A. MacEachern School, which opened in 1974, is named after Neil A. MacEachern. Mr. MacEachern served as a vice-principal, principal and trustee with the Waterloo Region District School Board. During his years in education, he pioneered the first Home and School Association and promoted the Special Education program in Waterloo County. N. A. MacEachern School is located in the north area of Waterloo. Some of our students take the bus, but the majority walk to school from the surrounding area. We also have a number of students from outside our school’s district who participate in the French Immersion program, and our congregated Autism Spectrum Disorder class.
