NA MacEachern’s School Virtue’s Project

This year, staff and students are passionate to kick off a school virtue’s project.  Starting last month students learned about what virtues are: the good qualities we see in ourselves, that begin in our hearts and our minds.   They were asked about what virtues are important to them, personally, for their school and within their school community.  They were prompted to follow POUNCE for our Panther Promise.

Students were creative in their submissions for what P should stand for.  It was important to tap into the student voice.  Some ideas submitted were: positive, peaceful, perseverance, polite, playful, protect your right, proud, and positive words, with an overwhelming number of suggestions for positive attitude.

So, the virtue focus for the month of December is to have a POSITIVE ATTITUDE.  We are focused on supporting students to have a positive attitude, at school, at home and in the community.  They have learned the importance of having a positive attitude, and how this can impact themselves and others.  Having a positive attitude means being able to see the bright side of any situation.

We will continue with one virtue every month.  January will be our “O” virtue.  Ask your child what they submitted as their suggestion, or have a conversation about what virtue it might be!

Wishing everyone a safe, happy and POSITIVE winter break!  Stay positive panthers!
